These are the studio machine's resident services and agent seats — the sidecars, engines, and MCP seats that keep the work running. The wall probes each of them for real: the statuses are the vocabulary — alive, gated, or quiet — and nothing here pretends.

Alive
The pal answered its probe with an ordinary HTTP reply (2xx–3xx). The service is up and open.
Gated
The port answered but with a lock (401/403) — or spoke non-HTTP. The lock proves someone's home; this is how an MCP seat shows life.
Quiet
The port refused or timed out — the pal isn't listening right now. An honest dark screen, never faked alive.
